I'm a writer living in Venice, Italy. My wife and I moved here in 2008 with our two dogs. The dogs have since gone to their reward, but my wife and I continue to enjoy living in the most beautiful city in the world. If you ever get a chance to come here look me up. I'll let you buy me a glass of wine.

In a previous life I practiced law in Maryland, and before that I served on a nuclear submarine.  I was born in Ohio, grew up in Michigan, and for twenty-two years before coming here I lived in Maryland. I'm a member of the Maryland Bar, and the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. I also have a master's degree in business.



I like to think of my writing as literary and dark fiction, or literary horror, although it is not all horror, but is all dark, and hopefully literary.



My favorite authors are Cormac McCarthy, Nick Cave, Anthony Burgess, William Kennedy, and Ralph Ellison. I'm a Beethoven fanatic, and like to paint. My favorite painters are Picasso, de Kooning, and Pollock.
